nursing necklace #1 - maple and red lampwork
After my son was born, I had a hard time finding a nursing necklace that I liked. So as often happens to me, I ended up designing my own!
The wooden pendants are sourced from an Etsy artist who primarily sells beautiful wooden buttons; she sends me beautiful pieces of smooth-sanded wood and I polish them with a mixture of beeswax, lanolin, and flaxseed oil - while these are not intended to be used as teethers, I knew they would inevitably end up being chewed and mouthed! The wooden pendants are accented by lampwork glass beads, also made by Etsy artists, and hung from a hand-crocheted cord that stretches gently when tugged. There are no knots to dig into the back of your neck, no clasps to break - just simple, elegant, natural materials.
This necklace features a maple wood pendant, a red heart-shaped lampwork bead, and handspun silk cord. The cord is approximately 26 inches long and the pendant is 2 inches high and 1.5 inches wide.
I use my necklace to redirect my son when he twiddles my skin or hair while nursing, to keep him distracted when carrying him on my back, to entertain him during diaper changes or buckling him into the carseat - and I get tons of complements on it too!
PLEASE NOTE: These necklaces are sturdy and made with non-toxic materials, but they are not toys or teethers. As with all jewelry, they should only be worn by adults and never left unsupervised with a baby or small child.
Sorry, this item has been purchased.
