beauty in the broken places #52

White moonstone with unusual rainbows just below the surface, accented with a single deep purple amethyst. 

As I was making this piece, the moonstone broke right before I finished wrapping it. I considered scrapping it, but the stone is too beautiful to throw away, and besides, the entire theme of this collection is appreciating the beauty of imperfection! So I left it, secured the broken piece with a tiny bit of glue and additional swoops of wire for stability, and it’s priced accordingly.

The break is hidden behind the three loops of wire wrapping around the top of the moonstone. It’s stable and not visible unless you look very closely, but I’d suggest handling this piece with care and storing it separately from other jewelry to avoid it being damaged.
