How to measure for necklaces & bracelets

All of my necklaces and bracelets are custom sized to your measurements - there's no such thing as an "average" size when it comes to jewelry, and one size definitely doesn't fit all! If you're buying one of my necklaces or bracelets for the first time, here's how to measure to get a perfect fit.

Necklaces

To measure for a necklace or neckvine, you first need to decide where on your chest you would like the top edge of the necklace to fall. Most people find that to be right at the collarbones, but you can also opt to wear it higher or lower.

Once you've decided, use a soft measuring tape to measure from the center of your chest at that point around to the nape of your neck directly over the spine. Double that measurement to get the length of the necklace.

If you aren't completely sure of the length or if your weight tends to fluctuate, use the smallest measurement that you think will be comfortable to wear, and ask me to include a free 1" clip-in extender.

If you don't have a soft measuring tape, you can use anything thin and flexible but not stretchy such as a phone charger cable. Pinch the cord tightly at the center of your chest and at the nape of your neck, and then measure between those two points.

Choker Style Necklaces

To measure for a choker-style necklace, you need to measure around your neck at the point where you want the choker to sit with a soft measuring tape. It should be loose enough that you can fit two fingers between the measuring tape and your neck - chokers aren't supposed to literally choke you!

Pinch the cord tightly where it overlaps, and then measure between those two points.

Bracelets

For narrow bracelets, simply use measure around your wrist at the place where you would like to wear the bracelet, using a soft measuring tape or something thin but not stretchy such as a phone charger cable. For a snug fit, add .25" to the actual measurement. For a looser fit, add .5" to the actual measurement.

For cuff bracelets, you will need to give me two measurements. First measure around your wrist at the place you want the lower edge to sit. Then go up your arm as far as the cuff bracelet is wide, and measure around your arm at that point. Add .25" to each of those measurements for a snug fit, or up to .5" for a looser fit.

If you want a bangle bracelet rather than a bracelet with a clasp, the best option is to measure a bangle bracelet that fits you comfortably. If you don't have one, tuck your thumb loosely into your hand as if you're about to slide on a bangle, and measure around the widest point of your hand. For a snug fit, add .25" to the actual measurement. For a looser fit, add .5" to the actual measurement.

Appointments are available Sunday through Friday from 10am to 7pm eastern time; later times are occasionally available but will take longer to schedule.
