This is a marvelous new-to-me stone, in the same general family as kyanite: sillimantite. It‘s kind of like what you’d get if you crossed black moonstone with silver obsidian, and it’s one of those stones that you have to see in person because photos don’t do it justice. There’s a lot of sparkle in the large bead, and little bits in the tiny ones, and it’s just lovely.
