This piece of feldspar (more on that in a moment) knew EXACTLY what it wanted to be, and isn’t it a striking bit of patterning in the stone?
It was on a strand of beads sold to me as “sand feldspar” which, uh... isn’t really a thing; this is actually very low-quality moonstone of the peach and grey persuasion. So yes, it is a feldspar, and I suppose “sand feldspar” is more likely to appeal to the average person than “crappy moonstone that looks nifty so maybe we can sell it” and maybe it’s a good thing I didn’t end up buying that bead store because I would TOTALLY label stuff accurately rather than going along with whoever is making up all these nonsense names.
Anyway. It’s pretty, and I think it has a story in it, maybe.
