The White Rose movement in WWII Germany was a small group of non-violent activists who distributed leaflets urging resistance against the Nazis.
Distributing information is much, MUCH different today than it was in 1941 and 1942. Yesterday, at a protest in Boston, thousands of people had their phones out, many of them streaming live video. But as we've seen this week, there are still attempts being made to limit the distribution of information - and there are still people fighting to make sure the world knows what's going on. $5 from every pair of these earrings goes to the ACLU in support of their tireless resistance.
