It’s unusual at this point for me to run across a stone that’s totally unknown to me, but I managed it this weekend: holly blue agate. Apparently it’s from a mine in Oregon, and it’s really fabulous - despite the name, all of the pieces they had were a gorgeous soft lavender, not blue! I’ve paired it here with tanzanite, which shifts from blue to purple-grey depending on the light, and it’s a lovely combination.
