Purple is the rarest color of all in labradorite, and I recently acquired a small quantity of truly breathtaking purple labradorite cabochons. In the 20 years that I’ve been working with labradorite, this is the absolute best I’ve ever seen.

This one shifts from a blueish violet to a pinkish plum, with lightning flickers of gold and green and blue. It’s set in swirling wire and tiny gemstones: amethyst, pink and green tourmaline, yellow zirconia, pink star sapphire, and kyanite.
