Purple is the rarest color of all in labradorite, and I recently acquired a small quantity of truly breathtaking purple labradorite cabochons. In the 20 years that I’ve been working with labradorite, this is the absolute best I’ve ever seen.

This one has bands of pink and purple, with cloud-like patterning that shifts from silver to cobalt depending on the angle, outlined in yellow and orange. It’s set in swirling wire with amethyst, pink tourmaline, pink star sapphire, and kyanite accents.
