So I was buying pretty rocks at one of my favorite suppliers, and as he was ringing up my purchase one of the owners picked up this strand of beads and said "they found another boulder, I guess" and when I looked at him blankly he went on to tell me that they hadn't been able to get any of this particular jasper for the past several years because their supplier had said it was completely mined out.
I don't know if it's true, and I'm also not entirely sure WHAT type of jasper this is (it was labeled as snakeskin jasper) but it's really pretty and I'm glad I was able to get some of it. The patterning is gorgeous.
