Three Ways To See In Shadow
Three Ways To See In Shadow
This piece of labradorite has been sitting on my workbench for months while I tried to figure out the best way to show off its unusual flash. From most angles it’s a soft teal/blue color, but at other angles it flashes a striking lavender color, and at yet another angle it’s silvery with flecks of silver aventurescence - the glittery optical effect most commonly seen in sunstone. It’s a remarkable stone and I’m unlikely to ever find another with this exact shade of shifty flash.
It’s set here with swirling wirework and dozens of tiny faceted beads - tanzanite, iolite, kyanite, amethyst, and fluorite. Be sure to watch the videos to see the way the flash shifts at different angles!
