Uncharted Nebula #3
Uncharted Nebula #3
This is something new on the bead market, and when I ordered it I wasn’t sure what it actually was and honestly didn’t care because, well, LOOK HOW SHINY!
...turns out it’s basically a double-sides abalone doublet - a thin piece of shell between two layers of glass. It’s a technique often used on opals, because it stabilizes very thin slivers of stone while beautifully showing off the colors.
In this case I’m quite sure the abalone has also been dyed - the range of color is too intense. But it’s really spectacular, and if you like the effect of opals, you’ll like these! The photos don’t really do it justice.
One of a kind. The accent beads are Swarovski crystal.
