what is this, a scoop for ants? (tiny gemstone bead scoops)
One scoop is approximately 5 grams and around 100 beads, or about the equivalent of a 13” strand. The scoops are drawn from the exact mix I use in my own work on a daily basis, which includes many high-quality gemstone beads that retail for $25 - $75 for a 15” strand.
The mix is constantly changing but typically includes all of the following: pink star sapphire, blue sapphire, amethyst, emerald, citrine, multiple colors of kyanite, at least four kinds of garnet, smoky quartz, iolite, moonstone, labradorite, peridot, aquamarine, lapis, blue and green goldstone, lab-created rubies, just about every color of tourmaline that exists, Ethiopian opals, lepidolite, several kinds of obsidian, rose quartz, chrome diopside, kunzite, tanzanite, sunstone, carnelian, multiple kinds of agate, fluorite, topaz, zircon, cubic zirconia, amazonite, golden rutile, prehenite, and more.
Most are round - both faceted and smooth - and they range from 1.5mm to 4mm with the occasional 5mm outlier. You’ll also find some rondelles, bicones, squares, coins, and other shapes from time to time.
