Towards the end of my emergency mental health vacation, I started wanting to spend time at the workbench again, but I didn’t quite feel up to my usual work… so I rummaged out some utterly glorious petrified wood beads and spent several days very contentedly getting lost in their colors and swirls, matching up pairs for earrings and setting some aside to be pendants if I couldn’t find a good match, and trying to decide which shade of Swarovski crystal to use. It was deeply soothing to my exhausted brain, and precisely what I needed to do, and I hope you love them as much as I loved making them.
The photos really don’t do these stones justice. I tried to take photos from enough angles to give you a good idea of what they look like, but short of taking individual videos of every single bead, there’s no way to really capture how much is going on in these stones.
Sterling silver earwires unless you opt to upgrade to something else. The beads are larger than I typically use for earrings, but not uncomfortably so in my opinion; you can definitely tell that you’re wearing them, but they’re only about 7 grams each, slightly over half an inch wide and just about an inch long not counting the earwires.
